Lufkin Industries, Inc. is a global supplier of oil field and power transmission products. The Company operates in two segments: Oil Field and Power Transmission. Through its Oil Field segment, the Company manufactures and services artificial lift equipment and related products, which are used to extract crude oil and other fluids from wells. Through its Power Transmission segment, the Company manufactures and services high-speed and low-speed increasing and reducing gearboxes for industrial applications. On March 1, 2009, the Company completed the acquisition of International Lift Systems, LLC (ILS), which manufactures and services gas lift, plunger lift and completion equipment for the oil and gas industry. On July 1, 2009 the Company completed the acquisition of Rotating Machinery Technology, Inc. (RMT).
